Julio Cortijo, Bachelor of Pharmacy by Complutense University of Madrid. Spain. and PhD in Pharmacology by Universidad de Valencia. Spain. Professor of Pharmacology in the Department of Pharmacology at the University of Valencia. Director of the Research Foundation of the General University Hospital of Valencia. Director of the research group that includes clinical and basic collaborators (CIBERES 13 group). National Award for Young Researchers, from the Spanish Society of Pharmacology (Competition 1989); Prize of the Royal Academy of Medicine and Surgery of Valencia (Competition 1990); Award (Health Sciences) of the Social Council of the University of Valencia (Contest 1997); GALIEN Award FOR THE BEST RESEARCH WORK PHARMACOLOGICAL (Contest 2001). Correspondent Academic of the Royal Academy of Medicine of Valencia and the Royal Academy of Pharmacy of Spain. During these years I have been able to lead different innovation research projects and knowledge transfer, contributing with important pre-clinical results to the market introduction of new drugs for the treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), asthma, pulmonary fibrosis and pulmonary hypertension.
